W. Louise Gray, 77, of Washington, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, in her home with her family members by her side. She was born in Pittsburgh on January 12, 1931, a daughter of Lester A. and Lenore Elizabeth Weidelt Myers.
On November 27, 1952, which was Thanksgiving, she married Eugene L. (Beanie) Gray. Thanksgiving Day marriage has been a long time family tradition, dating back to the 1800’s and including her paternal and maternal grandparents, as well as her parents. This tradition continues today with her daughter Beth.
She was a long time member of the Liberty United Methodist Church.
For more than twenty years, she worked as a bank manager with First National Bank in Washington.
Surviving are her loving children, a son, Mark E. Gray, at home and for whom she has cared for lovingly for thirty-seven years; three daughters, Luann G. Watson of Wilmington, DE, Kimberly Sue (Lawrence) Johnston of Smithfield, and Beth Adrianne (David) Gordon of West Finley; two grandchildren, Nathan Paul and Matti Renee Johnston of Morgantown; a sister Adrianne “ Binky Myers “ (Raymond) Maas of Sewickley; and several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and younger brother, Samuel David Myers, and a son-in-law, Mark G. Watson.
Friends of W. Louise Gray, 77, of Washington, who died Saturday, July 5, 2008, will be received on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at 11:00 AM, Rev. Lois Swestyn officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the: American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA or Family Hospice, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15243.
