Self-employed mechanic from Amwell Township. Edward Louis Border, 59, of Amwell Township, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005, in Canonsburg General Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born May 29, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Elmer and Helen Aichroth Border. Mr. Border was Catholic and was a self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed biking and the outdoors. On August 29, 1985, he married Darla Plants, who survives. Also surviving are a brother, James Border of Mt. Lebanon; two nieces, Heather Border and Paula Marquis; and two nephews, Doug Border and David Millar. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 5. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery.
