Washington resident was native of Germany
Lina Diegelmann Faris, 73, of Washington, died at 9:48 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 2, 1930, in Frankfort, Germany, a daughter of Ablonius and Berta Huber Diegelmann.
Mrs. Faris graduated from high school in Germany and was a member of Friendship Community Church in Washington.
She had been employed as a bartender for 17 years at the Hofbrau in Canonsburg.
Mrs. Faris was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed playing cards and bowling.
On June 16, 1947, she married James R. Faris, who died July 23, 1976.
Surviving are a son, James T. (Tim) Faris of Washington; a daughter, Ruth Peacock of Acworth, Ga.; a brother, Apollonius Diegelmann of Frankfort; a sister, Betty Pfahl of Frankfort; eight grandchildren, Robert (Charlie) Peacock, John Peacock, Kathleen Brown, Kristie Lou Sanders, Kaitlyn Faris, Brittany Faris, Jamie Faris and James Faris; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Gladys Kozdra.
FARIS - Friends of Lina Diegelmann Faris of Washington, who died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, with Rev. Floyd Marasco officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Washington County Humane Society.
