Leslie "Big Les" Yanavich, 59, of Washington, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 25, 2005. He was born in Washington on June 17, 1946, a son of the late Leslie "Butch" Yanavich and Loretta Bednarski Yanavich of Washington. Mr. Yanavich was a graduate of Trinity High School. He once worked at McGraw Edison in Canonsburg, enjoyed farming, and has been the Owner-Operator of Arden Auto Salvage for more than 25 years. Mr. Yanavich was a member of the Antique Tractor Association, the Washington Cruisers, and was a Classic Car enthusiast. Surviving in addition to his mother, is a daughter, Amanda Higgins, of Washington; a sister, Linda ( husband Russ ) Hay of Washington; and two nieces, Dawn Hay and Donna ( husband Ray ) Mantia. Friends of Leslie "Big Les" Yanavich, 59, of Washington, who died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 25, 2005, will be received on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday, from 12-noon to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2005, at 10:00 am with the Rev. Jeff Marquis officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family is requesting that no flowers be sent. Memorial donations are requested to: Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, 605 Hewitt Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
