Jason G. Cathers, 29, of Washington, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 16, 2006. He was born in Washington on February 9, 1977, a son of the late Milton Glenn Cathers and Marlene Diesel Cathers of Washington.
Mr. Cathers was a graduate of Trinity High School and had participated in various sports while attending school. Additionally, he had been involved in Lone Pine Youth Sports for more than ten years during the summers and was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glyde.
He had attended Community College of Allegheny County, achieving high honors, finishing first in his class in the Manufacturing 2000 Program for welding.
Having worked as a welder, Mr. Cathers had worked several years at the Pennsylvania Transformer and had last worked at AeroTech in Pittsburgh.
He loved the outdoors, especially swimming, skiing, and riding quads.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his companion, Sonja Chyress Steward and a daughter, Jada Sharisse Cathers.
Friends of Jason G. Cathers, 29, of Washington, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 16, 2006, will be received on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, the time of services. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
