Dolores Diane “Dee” Megyesy, 77, of Washington, died Saturday, December 20, 2008, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 21, 1931, in Washington, a daughter of Anthony and Julia Kuzy Shultz.
Mrs. Megyesy graduated from Trinity High School and was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington.
She was a legal secretary and worked in the Public Defenders office for four years.
Mrs. Megyesy enjoyed card club, bowling, dart ball, and was an avid Steeler’s and Penguin’s fan.
On August 12, 1950, she married Norman Megyesy, who died July 15, 2008.
Surviving are four sons, Timothy (Claire) Megyesy, of Crafton, William (Kathy) Megyesy, and Daniel (Barbara) Megyesy, both of Washington, Robert (Brenda) Megyesy, of Canonsburg; a daughter, Sharon (Bob) Zigerelli, of Scenery Hill; a brother, Jack (Rose) Schultz, of Arizona; sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, is a grandchild.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008, in Saint Hilary Roman Catholic Church, 320 Henderson Avenue, Washington, with Father Thomas D. O’Neil, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to American Diabetes Foundation, 300 Penn Center Boulevard, Suite 602, Pittsburgh, PA 15235, or Catholic Charities, 311 S. Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
