Alice M. Richmond, 88, of Washington, died Monday, September 12, 2005, in Washington Hospital, following a two-month illness.
She was born January 31, 1917, in Washington, a daughter of John H. and Mildred Pfeiffer Mossburg.
Mrs. Richmond was a homemaker, attended Friendship Community Church and enjoyed all sports.
During World War II, she worked at the RCA plant in Canonsburg, which supplied parts to the Navy.
On may 12, 1934, she married Harold "Howdy" Richmond, who died November 13, 2004.
Surviving are two sisters, Evelyn Jane Lindsay of Washington and Jessie Mary King of Macon, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sons, James Harold Richmond, who died in infancy, and Dr. Lee John Richmond; a brother, Thomas R. Mossburg; and two sisters, Helen C. Porter and Freda M. Ross.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 15, with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
