Tara Lynn Simms

Tara Lynn Simms, 26, of Washington, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, due to injuries received in an automobile accident on August 2, 2009. She was born November 11, 1982, in Washington, a daughter of Lester Simms, Jr., of Nineveh and Dorothy Marlene Daugherty of Washington. Miss Simms graduated from Washington High School and then Penn Commercial where she studied to be a certified nursing assistant. She had been a waitress at local restaurants and a dental assistant. She enjoyed swimming and dancing. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are three children, Kyeonna Jo-Leya Whitlock, Kye'Shawn Amario Whitlock and Ka-Ron Marquez Whitlock, all at home; a brother, Jason Simms of Washington; maternal grandmother, Betty "Nan" Daugherty of Washington; and paternal grandfather, Lester Simms, Sr. of Washington. Deceased are her maternal grandfather, Joe Daugherty; and her paternal grandmother, Della Mae Simms. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 20th, with Pastor Joe DiDonato, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
