Robert W. Stedman, Jr.

Worked in shipping department at Hazel-Atlas. Robert W. Stedman Jr., 75, of Washington, died at 10:35 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2005, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington. He was born January 15, 1930, in Washington, a son of Robert William Sr. and Ethel Boone Stedman. Mr. Stedman worked in the shipping department at Hazel-Atlas Glass Co. He also had been a cab driver and worked at the post office. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Washington and enjoyed country music. Mr. Stedman was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School. He was in the U.S. Navy, receiving a medical discharge. Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Jean Stedman of Washington; and a brother, Charles Stedman of Leesburg, Va. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
