Ruth Louise Runyan, 89, of Washington, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township. She had been in declining health for the past three years.
Born May 13, 1919, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of George T. and Myrtle Elizabeth Diehl Runyan.
Miss Runyan was a graduate of Trinity High School and a graduate of God's Bible School, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, where she was a former treasurer and very active in the church.
She was self employed at Runyan's Service Station on Route 19 south and was famous for homemade pies and meals.
Miss Runyan loved to help other people, and she was a bird counter.
She was the last surviving member of her family.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. David R. Price officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
