Carolyn Fullerton Smith, 61, of Claysville, formerly of Washington, died Thursday, December 4, 2008, in Donnell House.
She was born January 24, 1947, in Washington, a daughter of Harry �Chick� and Ruth Louise Lacock Fullerton.
Mrs. Smith was a 1964 graduate of Trinity High School. She later attended Penn Commercial where she graduated first in her class.
For several years, Mrs. Smith worked as a legal secretary at Bloom, Bloom and Rosenberg. She had also worked at York Realty and Keith R. Sims Insurance Agency.
Mrs. Smith attended Avery United Methodist Church and loved to read and solve crossword puzzles.
On April 11, 1975, she married David C. Smith, Sr., who survives.
Surviving in addition to her mother and husband, are three sons, Richard E. (Nicole) Tarr of Canonsburg, David C. (Alexis) Smith, Jr. of Tiltonsville, Ohio, and James M. Smith of Claysville; two stepdaughters, Michelle Jean (Ray) Crotts of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Melissa Ann (Dr. Timothy) Miley of Raleigh, North Carolina; one brother, William R. (Sheila) Fullerton of Amity; a sister, Sherry L. (James) Osborn of Washington; three grandchildren, Nicholas Tarr, Morgan Tarr and Tyler Smith; four step-grandchildren, Breanna Tate, Alec Tate, Braydon Miley and Kian Miley; and 2 nieces, Nicole and Shannon Fullerton, and a nephew, Chuckie Fullerton.
Deceased, in addition to her father, is her special protector, her beloved Dalmatian, Sprinkles.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 8th, with Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
