Lonnie Ray Bowman, 54, of Amity, died Sunday, December 7, 2008, in Washington Hospital.
He was born March 13, 1954, in Upland, Ind., a son of Leroy and Lona Clark Bowman.
Mr. Bowman was a 1973 graduate of Trinity High School.
He worked as a mould-maker at Washington Auto Machine Co. for 15 years and at Penn Mould for 10 years.
Mr. Bowman was involved with the 140th Pennsylvania Volunteers as a Civil War re-enactor.
His wife, Rachel G. Bowman, whom he married September 25, 1976, survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Christopher Shay Bowman and William E. Bowman, both of Washington, LeeRoy Temple (Sarah) Bowman of Monessen, Daniel Ray Bowman of Lone Pine and Lonnie Ray Bowman II of Amity; two brothers, Kenneth Bowman of Mississippi and Clark Bowman of Cokeburg; two sisters, Lona Fay Miles of Mississippi and Wanda Dyer of Michigan; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 12, with Pastor Laurie Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church Cemetery
