Kersey Ringgold “Danny” Dever, Jr., 78, of Glenburn, Maine, died December 20, 2008, in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, as a result of injuries sustained in a fire.
He was born June 8, 1930, in Easton, a son of the late Kersey Ringgold Dever Sr. and Carolyn Mentzer Dever.
Mr. Dever graduated from Washington High School in 1948 and attended Washington and Jefferson College for one year. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving state-side during the Korean War.
He was retired from Pepperell Mill, Portland, Maine, where he had worked in the maintenance department.
His first wife, Thelma Blake Dever, is deceased.
His second wife, Dorothy Mank, died July 15, 1981.
Surviving are three children to his first wife, Robert (Marci) Dever of Washington, Vicki (Kevin) Young of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Debra (Tim) Trent of Washington; a daughter to his second wife, Karen Rowe of Hampden, Maine; a brother, James H. Dever of Covington, Georgia; two sisters, Dale (Chuck) Philp of Washington and Jane Stoner of Hallandale, Florida; nine grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Kelly, Bobby, Bridget, Jason, twins Marcia and Shauna, and Chrissy; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 10th, in Washington Cemetery.
