Catherine Marie Adams

Catherine Marie Adams, 80, of Washington, formerly of Norfolk, Virginia, died December 30, 2008, in Canonsburg Hospital. She had been ill since 2004. She was born December 14, 1928, in Norfolk, Virginia, a daughter of Clarence William and Mary Jane Beverly Ruffin. Mrs. Adams was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church. She had worked as an aide at the Washington County Health Center. On January 10, 1956, she married John Wray C. Adams, who died December 15, 1996. Surviving are a daughter, Irene Beasley (Steven) Corser of Lansing, Michigan; four grandchildren, Gina, Kimberly, Eric and Harold; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Wray Adams and his wife Adrian of Canonsburg, who were her caregivers, Emilia Bryant of Atlanta, Georgia, Adrain Brown of Pittsburgh and Ebony Thomas of Pittsburgh; and 17 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Clarence Ruffin; and two sisters, Clarethia Chapman and Clemmie Haskin. Friends will be received 10 a.m. till Noon in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. There will be no public services.
