Phyllis C. Waltz, 77, of Washington, died Saturday, September 19, 2009, in Donnell House.
She was born May 7, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of Gaylord L. and Jean Plants Crile.
Mrs. Waltz graduated from Washington High School in 1950. For 20 years, she worked at Washington Hospital Extended Care Facility then worked for 10 years as a secretary at Physicians Home Care.
Mrs. Waltz was a member of First Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star in Washington. She loved to shop, crochet and spend time with her family and grandchildren.
On January 26, 1951, she married Richard E. Waltz, who died November 25, 2003.
Surviving are three son, Robert (Janice) Waltz of Washington, Thomas (Mary Anne) Waltz of Latrobe, and Jeffrey (Barb) Waltz of Washington; eight grandchildren, Melissa Waltz Fry, Mark Waltz, Melanie Waltz, Heather Waltz Simpson, Thomas H. Waltz, Jeffrey R. Waltz, Kylea Waltz Fraser and Kelsey Waltz; and four great-grandchildren, Luke, Colin, Hannah and Addison.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 23rd, with Rev. Paul Harrington officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
