Patricia Smyth Guarascio, 82, of Washington, died Saturday, January 24, 2009, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born April 2, 1926, in Monessen, a daughter of the late Hugh Alexander and Alice Margaret Murphy Smyth.
Mrs. Guarascio was a graduate of Monessen High School. She worked as a secretary for Drs. Berman and Smith for many years.
Her family brought her great joy and she lived for her children. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Mrs. Guarascio was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church.
On May 11, 1946, she married Joseph F. Guarascio, who died November 13, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane (Anthony) Fiem and Jodie (Jimmy) Ward, both of Washington; a brother, Vincent (Vonnie) Smyth of Bogota, New Jersey; three sisters, Nell Petrus of Donora, Margaret Smyth of Washington and Rita Miller of Princeton, Illinois; six grandchildren, Michael, Mark and Bethany Fiem, all of Charleston, South Carolina, J.R. Ward of North Canton, Ohio, and Jenna and Joey Ward, both of Washington.
Deceased is a brother, Hugh Bernard Smyth.
A gathering of friends will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 27th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Thomas O’Neil officiating.
