Dorothy Gorwitz

Dorothy “Dot” Gorwitz, 83, of Avon Lake, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008. She was born May 28, 1925, in Washington, a daughter of the late Joseph Paul Heres and Hazel Kinder Heres McClelland. Mrs. Gorwitz had worked in management at AT&T in San Francisco. She was Catholic and enjoyed music and dogs. Her husband, Al Gorwitz, died in 1975. Surviving are a brother, Fred (Pat) Harris of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Brenda (Chuck) Camps of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Joseph Harris; and three sisters, Evelyn Naser, Joan Anderson and Mary Ellen Kavolak. Friends will be received Noon to 2 p.m., the hour of service, Friday, December 26, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Rev. Donald Chortos officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
