Charles T. Griffin, 63, of Washington, died Monday, January 26, 2009, in The Washington Hospital, following a 3-½ year illness.
He was born June 19, 1945, in Johnstown, a son of Charles W. and Jane Weicht Griffin of Bedford.
For 40 years, Mr. Griffin was self-employed at Griffin Carpeting.
He enjoyed his family and grandchildren, fishing and singing.
Mr. Griffin was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, the Eagles in Wheeling, West Virginia, and L.O.O.M. #22.
On August 27, 1966, he married Donna Sarnicke, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Todd (Debra) Griffin of Washington; a daughter, Amber Bennett of Canonsburg; a brother, Roger (Becky) Griffin of Everett; and two grandchildren, Mackenzie Griffin and Rex Bennett.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31st, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multi-Disciplinarian Clinic, UPMC Cancer Pavilion, 5150 Centre Avenue, 4th floor, Suite 417, Pittsburgh PA 15232.
