John D. Haschets

John D. Haschets, 63, of Washington, died January 30, 2009. He was born July 23, 1945, in Charleroi, a son of the late Charles W. Haschets and Catherine Taylor Haschets Byron. Mr. Haschets was a graduate of California High School. He worked as an accountant/controller for NABCO in Washington and later as controller/president of Reynolds Manufacturing in Avonmore. Mr. Haschets was a sports enthusiast--he enjoyed coaching softball and soccer, watching his children play sports and being involved with the Jefferson Football Club. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies. He loved the times he spent with his family. Mr. Haschets was a member of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church. On March 8, 1981, he married Pamela Mansfield, who survives. Also surviving are his first wife, Carole Macko of Monessen; two daughters, Melissa (Tom) Zupan of Monessen, Jenna Haschets at home; a son, Jordan Haschets at home; a grandson, Tommy Zupan; one brother, Charles (Janice) Haschets of West Newton; two sisters, Trina (Jim) Trozzo and Wendy (Barry) Mellinger both of Smithton; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Gloria McDonough, and two nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7th, in Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. Donald C. Austin officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for an account to be established for his children. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, is in charge of arrangements.
