Doris E. Camlin, 84, of Washington, died Monday, February 2, 2009, in Washington County Health Center.
She was born May 8, 1924, in Riverdale, New York, a daughter of Matthew and Elise “Elsie” Kaut Lynch.
Mrs. Camlin was a homemaker who enjoyed needlework, quilting, oil painting and gardening. She was a member of Church of the Covenant and the Martha Washington Garden Club.
During World War II, she was a civil defense worker in New York City.
On May 18, 1946, she married George D. Camlin, who died February 2, 1979.
Surviving are a son, George M. (Joyce) Camlin of Washington; a daughter, Joyce A. (Rich) Harbaugh of Confluence; one brother, John Robert “Bob” Lynch of Plainview, New York; seven grandchildren, Rich Harbaugh Jr., Jeff Harbaugh, Amy Yanick, Matthew Camlin, Susan Huston, David Camlin and Steven Harbaugh; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Matthew Lynch.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 5th, with Rev. Matthew Camlin officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
