Catherine Pearl Plants, 84, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in her home.
She was born September 29, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of Russell H. and Cora Margaret Courtwright Crouser.
Mrs. Plants attended Waynesburg High School.
For 33 years, she worked as an assembler at RCA, and for 3 years, she worked at Duncan-Miller Glass.
Mrs. Plants was a member of West Washington United Methodist Church and LOOM 22.
She enjoyed knitting and cooking.
On, September 28, 1946, she married John Kelley Plants, who died May 12, 1981.
Surviving are two sons, John K. (Patricia) Plants Jr. and Robert Eugene (Marilyn) Plants, both of Washington; a sister, Grace Evelyn Frazee of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Tracy, Lori, Brandi, Cara, John Wayne, Robert, Chris and Jonathan; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Albert Wayne Plants; three brothers, Donald Russell Crouser, James Franklin Crouser and Robert Louis Crouser; and two sisters, Margaret Virginia Crouser and Betty Louise Greene.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 6, with the Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
