Piera Mazza

Piera Mazza, 78, of Washington, died Monday, February 9, 2009, in Hixenbaugh Nursing Home, Claysville. She was born July 5, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Joseph and Blanche Bandini Uguccioni. Mrs. Mazza worked as a secretary at Mellon Bank for 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, drawing, shopping, traveling, and her cats. On June 16, 1956, she married Gregory J. Mazza, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Ronald (Elaine) Mazza of North Hills; two daughters, Jean Peelor Mazza of Bethel Park and Marie (Randall) Higgins of Washington; a sister, Mary Jane Bucci of Carrick; and a step-grandchild, Ashley Higgins. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 11th, in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Pittsburgh, with Rev. Craig Bellis officiating. Entombment will immediately follow the service.
