Roger W. Fonner, 63, of Washington, died Saturday, February 14, 2009, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born April 27, 1945, in Washington, a son of Charles Ed and Ethel S. Loy Fonner.
Mr. Fonner worked as a truck driver for Fonner Sanitation Company and formerly worked for Alcoa Company in Cleveland, Ohio, for several years.
He enjoyed working outside and landscaping.
On February 11, 2000, he married Martha Plants, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Toby Fonner, Tony Fonner and Steven Fonner; two daughters, Lisa Fonner and Brianna Plants, all of Washington; two brothers, Robert L. Fonner of California and Paul R. Fonner of Washington; three sisters, Linda Fonner of Washington, Betty Lou Fordyce of Wheeling and Jane Fonner Goins, of Cleveland, Ohio; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three sisters, Mary Ann Loar, Alice Sidney Jones and Grace McCartney; and three brothers, William, Charles Ray and James Fonner.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, February 18th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. George Plants officiating.
