Dorothy Della Bedillion Barnum, 82, of Washington, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, in the Washington Hospital. She had been in declining health.
She was born April 16, 1926, in Washington, a daughter of John William and Florence Delilah Bryson Burns.
For 15 years, Mrs. Barnum managed the Snowy White Laundry on Jefferson Avenue. She was a member of the auxiliary of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion and the auxiliary of L.O.O. M. 22 and was a past member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 687.
Mrs. Barnum enjoyed playing bingo and going to the Meadows.
Her husband, Robert “Dutch” Bedillion, is deceased.
Surviving are a son, William R. (Linda) Bedillion of Washington; a sister, Romaine E. Miller of Washington; five grandchildren, William “Rusty” Bedillion of Washington, Billie Jo Bedillion of Orlando, Todd M. Dunkle of Hagerstown, Maryland, Jason E. (Marcy) Dunkle of Avella and Tim G. (Jodi) Dunkle of Washington; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, “Buzzy” Burns; two sisters, Loretta Bellin and a sister who died as a teenager.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 23, with Pastor Harry Wayne Ankrom officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
