Garlene B. Skoczylas, 81, of Washington, died Sunday, February 15, 2009, in Donnell House, following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 24, 1927, in Washington, a daughter of Ross and Isa Kinnan Bebout.
Mrs. Skoczylas was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, attending card parties, crocheting towels for family members and bowling with the Washington Women’s Bowling League.
She attended Laboratory Presbyterian Church.
On October 9, 1947, she married Julius Skoczylas, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Terry (Joyce) Skoczylas; a daughter, Denise Skoczylas, both of Washington; two sisters, her twin sister, Margaret “Peggy” Johnston of Washington, and Lorelei Brandt of Coraopolis; two grandchildren, Patrick Ross Skoczylas and Corry Shane Mays; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Ireda Tanner and Mildred Bebout; and five brothers, Leroi, Harlan, Robert, Raymond and Rodney Bebout.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 18th, with Rev. David A. Stammerjohn officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
