Thomas F. Kelley, Sr., 68, of Eighty Four, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in his home, following a brief illness. He was born September 22, 1940, in Eighty Four, a son of Alvie Earl and Marian Belle Martin Kelley. Mr. Kelley graduated from Bentworth High School in 1958. He served in the Air Force Reserves and attained the rank of Medical Staff Sergeant. Mr. Kelley worked for his father at Kelley Industries for several years. On January 2, 2009, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service in the Washington office as a letter carrier, after thirty-five years of service. Mr. Kelley played many sports and coached youth sports for Trinity, East Washington, Eighty Four and Bentworth, for over forty years. He enjoyed working with and teaching youth. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, the Nottingham Christian Center Youth Group, and his church family and friends. He was a member of Nottingham Christian Center and National Association of Letter Carriers. On May 18, 1968, he married Patricia A. Tush, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Thomas F. Kelley, Jr., who lives at home; two daughters, Tracey A. (Sean, Sr.) Scott, of Washington, and Donna Rae (Ryan) Sallee, of Eighty Four; seven grandchildren, Morgan and Maverick Kelley, Brittini, Alysha Rae, and Sean Scott, Jr., Kaitlyn and Amber Rae Sallee; two brothers, Paul Kelley, of Pelzer, South Carolina, and Raymond Kelley, of Donora; three sisters, Patricia Mellars, of Leeds, Alabama, Marian Partezana, of Columbus, Ohio, and Sara Ames, of Eighty Four; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Eva Evans. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held Monday, March 9, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., in Nottingham Christian Church, 1028 Linden Road, Eighty Four, PA, with Pastor William Lusk, Pastor Brent Furlong, and Youth Pastor Jonathan Mayak officiating. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Church Cemetery, Eighty Four. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be donated to Nottingham Christian Center Youth Group, 1028 Linden Road, Eighty Four, PA 15340.
