Dorothy M. Grimm 83, of Washington, died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday December 10, 2005, in Washington Hospital, following a six-week illness. She was born November 8, 1922, in Chartiers Township, a daughter of James W. and Sarah Temple Null. Mrs. Grimm was a member of Chartiers Cross Roads United Presbyterian Church and had served as a deacon. She was an employee of South Hills Convalescence Home from 1973 to 1976. From 1977, she was a custodian at a Pennsylvania state police barracks, retiring in 1987. Mrs. Grimm was a graduate of Hickory High School and Penn Commercial College. She enjoyed baking. On April 24, 1943, she married Harry R. Grimm, who died November 21, 1960. Surviving are a son, Richard K. Grimm and wife Linda of West Finley; two daughters, Betty J. Paraska and husband Jerry of Washington and Donna M. Grimm of Washington; a sister, Helen Spencer of Penn Yan, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Steve Paraska, Mikol Bell, Lisa Nimal, Bobbi Jo Shalis and Christopher Crawford; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Amber and Paul Nimal, Cara, Seth and Bradlee Paraska, Ryan, Jacob and Alissa Shalis and Chandler Bell; Deceased are two sons, James T. Grimm, who died in infancy, and Theodore W. Grimm; four brothers, Arthur, Clarence, Blaine and Frank Null; and three sisters, Ella Hess, Alice Null and Grace Larissey.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, with the Rev. Barry Sweet officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Cross Roads United Presbyterian Church.
