Longtime Jessop Steel employee enjoyed hunting.
Charles (Bob) Gratz, 80, of Washington, died Monday, January 5, 2009, in Donnell House, Washington. He had been ill since November 13.
He was born June 19, 1928, in Washington, a son of Clyde E. and Pearl M. Loughman Gratz.
Mr. Gratz worked at Hazel-Atlas and then worked as a pipe fitter at Jessop Steel for 38 years.
He enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
On December 20, 1947, he married Dorothy A. Parsons, who died February 6, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Donald W. (Ellen) Gratz of Washington; two daughters, Carolyn (Charlie) Emery of Eighty Four and Debi (Ray) Marshall of Washington; a brother, Jim Gratz of Washington; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Jimmie, Tyler, Donnie, Steven, Julie, Tiffany and Heather; and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Jack A. Gratz, who died in 1981, and a brother, Clyde "Sonny" Gratz Jr.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 9, with the Rev. Michael Roach officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
