Robert L. Montgomery

Robert L. Montgomery, 51, of Claysville, died Friday, March 27, 2009, in Donnell House, Washington, following a lengthy illness. He was born January 12, 1958, in Washington, a son of Lucy Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery worked at Enlow Fork Mine in East Finley Township for 2 ½ years. He enjoyed his grandchildren and working on cars. On October 4, 1975, he married Frances E. Fisher, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Ronald (Janice) Montgomery and Jeremy Montgomery, both of Claysville; two sisters, Mary (Thomas) Hartzog, of Washington, and Reda Montgomery, of Prosperity; four grandchildren, Brian, Bradley and Joseph Montgomery, and Brandon Roberts; two aunts, Frances Bennett, of East Finley Township, and Helen Ammons, of Claysville; and an uncle, Bailey Montgomery, of East Finley Township. Deceased is his grandmother, Hannah Montgomery, who raised him. Friends will be received Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held Monday, March 30, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Robert Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Claysville Cemetery at a later date.
