James R. (Bob) McCoy, 78, of Washington, died Friday, March 27, 2009, in Washington Hospital, with family and friends by his side.
He was born August 4, 1930, in Washington, a son of Carl William "Barney" and Lulu B. McCoy.
Mr. McCoy was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a fitter at McGraw Edison for 37 years.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening. His favorite hobby was spending time with his grandsons and telling others all about them. Some of his favorite times were spent lakeside with his "little buddy" Travis, "big buddy" Stephen and their dad, Jim.
Mr. McCoy is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 35 years, Carol Moore McCoy.
Also surviving are a daughter, Dawn M. and son-in-law Rick L. Couch of Burgettstown; two grandsons, Stephen J. and Travis R. Ringer; a brother, Richard (Mary Jane) McCoy of Canonsburg; two sisters, Margaret Brodnick of Houston and Mary Grace (Gordon) Grimm of Avella; and a former son-in-law, James Ringer.
Deceased are a son, Robert M. (Bobby) McCoy, and four brothers, John "Buck," William, Edward and Joey McCoy, who died in infancy.
Friends wil be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
