John William "Bill" Mosko, 87, of Washington, formerly of Avella, died Friday, September 11, 2009, in his residence, following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 2, 1922, in Buffalo, Ohio, a son of John and Amy Lair Mosko.
During World War II, Mr. Mosko served as a radio operator in the Army Air Forces. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and marksmanship badges for Pistol and Carbine. He was honorably discharged on February 8, 1946, with a rank of staff sergeant.
Mr. Mosko was an office manager at Pittsburgh Air Radio for 38 years.
He was a member of Avella Athletics Association and a 60-year member of various American Legion Posts, including Avella and Washington.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda L. Kesneck of Washington and Norma Kay Mosko; two grandchildren, Colten W. Kesneck and Kathlene Garcia-Mosko; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are his first wife, Edith M. Hood Mosko; his second wife, Patricia Tustin Mosko; two sisters, Katherine Dixon and Norma Johnson; and a half sister, Odessa.
