Margaret Ann Paraska Gregg, 88, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009, in Washington County Health Center, following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 18, 1920, in Washington, a daughter of Frederick Paraska, Sr. and Mary Margaret Gregosky Paraska.
Mrs. Gregg graduated from Trinity High School in 1938 and was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Gregg first worked at Hazel Atlas Glass and also ran the County Juvenile Detention Home as a house parent for several years. She then was an aide at Washington County Health Center, retiring after several years of service.
On August 28, 1945, she married James Walter Gregg, who died January 6, 1987.
Surviving and a son, Robert James (Alison) Gregg, of Washington; a daughter, Mary Ella Gregg Hamilton, of Bridgeville; a brother, Frederick C. Paraska, Jr., of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Ian Alan (Kristen) Hamilton, Timothy David Hamilton, and Emily Lauren Gregg; three great grandchildren, Leo Victor Hamilton, Max Alan Hamilton, and Aaden Tyler McConnell.
Deceased are three sisters, Anna Marie Paraska Mages, Helen Louise Paraska Moulden, and Flora Paraska Sprowls; and two brothers, Robert J. Paraska and John Joseph Paraska.
Friends will be received Friday, January 16, 2009, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. the hour of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray.
