Mary A. Moore Kirschner, 75, of Washington, died at 2:10 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2009, in the Donnell House, following a one-year illness.
She was born May 26, 1933, in Washington, a daughter of the late Walter and Pearl Elizabeth Wishart Moore.
Mrs. Kirschner was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School and attended Penn Commercial for two years.
She worked for 16 and a half years at RCA and Tactec as an assembler, seven years at Community Care, and was an in-home caregiver.
Mrs. Kirschner was a member of Christian Church of North America, the Moose Women’s Auxiliary, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the Arms Club.
She enjoyed her family and crocheting, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
She was married to Lloyd Vernon Kirschner for 41 years, until his passing on February 21, 1993. They were married on January 26, 1952, by her late father-in-law, Samuel Kirschner, in the Church of Jesus Christ in Monongahela.
Surviving are five daughters, Deborah Lindsay, Terry Ann (Edward) Lacock and Constance Sue Kirschner, all of Washington, Toni Lee (Kenneth) Passage of Farwell, Michigan, and Carol Renee (George) Woodring of Lancaster; 13 grandchildren, Dana Garetson, Tina Ruble, Izzy Martini, Jeremy and Easton Lacock, Vernon, Scott, Steven and Tim Hartner, Miranda Calvert, Emily Comstock, Casey Abbruzzese, and Andrew Bonus; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Bennis of Gahanna, Ohio; a brother, Charles (Jackie) Moore of Weirton, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two grandchildren, Desiree and Brandon (Peeper) Lacock; and two brothers, Francis and John Moore.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17th with Rev. Robert Berk officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
