Wayne E. Close, 47, of Washington, died Monday, July 20, 2009, in Washington Hospital, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born June 24, 1962, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Irvin Lee and Rita Christina Krolczyk Close.
Mr. Close was a graduate of McGuffey High School and a member of Victory Church.
He was a truck driver and most recently worked for ACM Transport for the past six years.
Mr. Close was a lifetime member of N.R.A. and a member of Honda Riders Association.
On April 23, 2006, he married Teri McCarter, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Melissa Vanderlee, of Claysville, and Kayla McCarter, of Washington; a brother, Daniel R. (JoAnn) Close, of Prosperity; and two sisters, Cynthia Lee (Stephen) Smith, of Washington, and Lory Lynn (Terry) Schultz, of Lock Haven.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2009, with Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
