Marilyn Eileen Hamlin

Marilyn Eileen Hamlin, 58, of Washington, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, in Donnell House. She was born May 14, 1950, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of William Dugan, of Washington, and the Leonara Matonak Dugan. Mrs. Hamlin was a 1971 graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Huntington, WV. She also attended Marshall University. Mrs. Hamlin was a registered nurse and worked for Family Home Health from 1989 to 2007. Her faith was Catholic. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing and crafts. On August 8, 1970, she married Douglas Ray Hamlin, who died December 3, 2005. Surviving are two sons, Shawn (Lindy) Hamlin and Brian (Susan) Hamlin, both of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother, Michael (Robin) Dugan, of McDonald; four sisters, Kathy Dugan, of Washington, Julie (Craig) Waters, of Moon Township, Francie (Chuck) O’Connor, of Norcross, Georgia, and Patty (Chuck) Wintermantel, of Aliquippa; and three granddaughters, Marlee Anne Hamlin, Briana Aris Hamlin, and Alivia Patrice Hamlin. Friends will be received Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 E. Maiden Street, Washington. There will be no visitation on Sunday. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009, in Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, with Father Nicholas Spirko, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Donnell House, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, or American Cancer Society, 331 S. Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
