Rose Marie Bieda Lacock, 95, of Washington, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, following a ten-day illness.
She was born January 18, 1914, in Poland, a daughter of Michael and Josephine Ptak Bieda.
Mrs. Lacock worked as a selector/packer at Brockway Glass and Hazel Atlas #2. She enjoyed needlework, gardening, reading and shopping with her daughter.
Mrs. Lacock was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church.
Her husband, King E. Lacock, died July 18, 2005. They had celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Patti J. Lacock; a brother, Michael (Mary Jane) Bieda; and a brother-in-law, Robert "Salty" Hartzell, all of Washington; and many loving nieces, great nieces and nephews.
Deceased are five sisters, Helen and Stella Bieda, who both died in infancy, Mary Gajarsky, Violet Hartzell and Caroline Strawn; and three brothers, Joseph, Carl and John Bieda.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 8th, at 11 a.m., in Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, with Bishop John Mack as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
