Betty Jane Cooper, 79, of Washington, died Friday, January 16, 2009, in Donnell House, following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 10, 1929, in the Bellevue section of Pittsburgh, and was raised by her grandmother, Anna Demko.
Mrs. Cooper worked as a telephone operator and in catalog sales at Sears for 30 years. She also worked as a cashier at Foodland and Giant Eagle and as a bartender at American Legion Post 175.
Mrs. Cooper was Catholic.
Her husband, Albert Cooper, died September 25, 1972.
Surviving are two sons, David (Marge) Cooper of Avella and George Cooper of Washington; two daughters, Donna (Carmine) Molinaro of Washington and Pat Kita of the state of California; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 19th, at Forest Lawn Gardens. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
