Annetta Grace Griest

Secretary for Northgate-Westgate Apartments Annetta Grace Griest, 54, of Washington, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005, in Donnell House, following a one-year illness. She was born May 12, 1951, in Washington, a daughter of Albert Barney of Eighty Four and Eleanor Huggins Smith of Washington. She graduated from Trinity High School and was Protestant. She worked as a secretary for Northgate-Westgate Apartments for 25 years. In 1979, she married David Alexander Griest, who died in October 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Christy Rutan Rodriquez; three brothers, Leslie Barney, Drew Barney and Blair Barney, all of Eighty Four; two sisters, Debbie Ullom of Washington and Doreen Toth of Wake Forest, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Dalton and Jacob Fonner. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 30, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating.
