Kathleen Haviland Bracken, 92, of Claysville, died Friday, December 5, 2008, in Consulate Health Care of North Strabane.
She was born September 20, 1916, in Ruff Creek, a daughter of Herman and Sara Iams Edgar.
Mrs. Bracken graduated from Washington High School in 1936 and from Griffith School of Beauty Culture in 1937.
For many years, she owned and operated a beauty shop in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Bracken was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Greene County Historical Society and AARP.
On September 3, 1939, she married Harry G. Haviland, who died April 13, 1971.
On September 23, 1978, she married William C. Bracken, who died July 5, 1982.
Surviving are a son, Richard B. Haviland of Washington; a daughter, Kathleen (Henry) Hess of Claysville; one brother, Robert I. Edgar of Washington; and a sister, Carol A. (William) Myers of Florida; four grandchildren, Rebecca Haviland Moore, Christine Hess, Henry (Brandy) Hess III, and Mary Hess; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at Noon, Monday, December 8th, with Rev. Rob Berk officiating.
