Longtime coal miner was disc jockey
William Arthur Ritter Sr., 58, of Washington, died Friday, November 14, 2008, in his home.
He was born March 14, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late Ralph Alfred and Mildred Dale Comstock Ritter.
Mr. Ritter graduated from Trinity High School in 1968.
He worked as a coal miner at Marianna Mine/Consol for 25 years.
Mr. Ritter loved music and was a disc jockey known as "Tex." He also enjoyed softball and bowling.
Surviving are two sons, Bill (Leann) Ritter and Brian Kinney, both of Washington; a stepson, Curtis Farabee of Waynesburg; two daughters, Billie Jo Ferguson of Youngstown, Ohio, and Annalise Ritter of Florida; two stepdaughters, Brenda Farabee and Mona Farabee, both of Youngstown; three brothers, Ralph A. "Buddy" (Paulette) Ritter, Jimmie (Karen) Ritter and Charlie Ritter, all of Washington; a sister, Mildred Dale "Sue" Ritter of Washington; and three grandchildren, Denise, Kristen and Justin.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 18. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
