William Arthur Ritter

Longtime coal miner was disc jockey William Arthur Ritter Sr., 58, of Washington, died Friday, November 14, 2008, in his home. He was born March 14, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late Ralph Alfred and Mildred Dale Comstock Ritter. Mr. Ritter graduated from Trinity High School in 1968. He worked as a coal miner at Marianna Mine/Consol for 25 years. Mr. Ritter loved music and was a disc jockey known as "Tex." He also enjoyed softball and bowling. Surviving are two sons, Bill (Leann) Ritter and Brian Kinney, both of Washington; a stepson, Curtis Farabee of Waynesburg; two daughters, Billie Jo Ferguson of Youngstown, Ohio, and Annalise Ritter of Florida; two stepdaughters, Brenda Farabee and Mona Farabee, both of Youngstown; three brothers, Ralph A. "Buddy" (Paulette) Ritter, Jimmie (Karen) Ritter and Charlie Ritter, all of Washington; a sister, Mildred Dale "Sue" Ritter of Washington; and three grandchildren, Denise, Kristen and Justin. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 18. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
