Ruth Mosier Miller, 85, of Washington, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, in the Washington County Health Center following several years of declining health.
She was born June 16, 1923, in Washington County, a daughter of David M. and Clara Heidelmeyer Mosier.
Following graduation from Trinity High School in 1942, she went to work for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where she worked for 42 years, retiring in 1984 as chief clerk.
Mrs. Miller was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, where she was involved in various church activities and had served as an elder. She was also a member of Buffalo Grange since 1979, Washington County Pamona Grange and Pennsylvania State Grange.
Mrs. Miller enjoyed gardening.
On October 23, 1954, she married Calvin Leroy “Cab” Miller, who died April 30, 1996.
Surviving are three nieces, Jacquelyn (Robert “Smitty”) Smith and Valerie (Roger) Schumaker, both of Washington, and Pamela (Daniel) Knox of Ambridge; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Albert and Paul Mosier.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional viewing will be held from 10 till 11 a.m., the hour of service, Saturday, April 4th, in North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, with Rev. John Mark Scott and Pastor Gary Gibson co-officiating. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Buffalo Grange, Citizens Library or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
