Robert Mikel Rudy, 27, of Washington, died Saturday, November 21, 2009, in UPMC-Montefiore, Pittsburgh, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident five years ago.
He was born February 26, 1982, in Washington, a son of Robert Mikel Rudy, Sr., and Donna Lynn Loar Rudy, both of Washington.
Mr. Rudy graduated from Washington High School in 2000 and from Pennsylvania Culinary Arts Institute. While at Washington High School, he lettered in multiple sports, was a 1998 state champ in shot put, and played on the 1998 state championship football team.
Mr. Rudy had been a chef at Red Lobster for 3 years and was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Canonsburg.
He enjoyed fishing and motocross riding.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Christina Rene (John) Panarello of Erie and Emmy Paradise of Washington; a nephew, Jacob D. Rudy; a niece, Candille C. Panarello; his step-father, Patrick Harris; maternal grandparents, Esther (Gary) Chase of Washington and Bonnie (Norman) Harris, of Washington; his Godmother, Anna Berg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Deceased is his maternal grandfather, Bradley �Barry� Deems; and paternal grandmother, Linda Lee Rudy;
Friends will be received Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, November 25th, in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Canonsburg, with Father George Livanos officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
