Elizabeth Theresa Testas, 94, of Washington, died Sunday, November 22, 2009, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center.
She was born November 1, 1915, in Bavington, a daughter of Albert and Gemma Sartori Sterckle.
Mrs. Testas was a member of St. Ann Church in Bulger and also attended St. Hilary Church in Washington.
She loved spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed bowling and playing bingo. Mrs. Testas was a member of Senior Citizens Center and the ladies Auxiliary of VFW #567 in Bulger.
For over 20 years, she was the clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Bulger.
On August 11, 1934, she married Leon Louis Testas, who died September 13, 1976.
Surviving are a son, Leon (Lydia) Testas, Jr., of Beaver Creek, Ohio; a daughter, Carole (Bob) Harvey of Washington; one sister, Eva Mae DeCook of McDonald; and 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Testas, Sherry Winslow, Lydia Edwards, Charles Testas, Robert Harvey II and Nathan Harvey; and 10 great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Charles Testas, A grandchild, Rebecca Lee Testas; a great grandchild, Rebecca Lee Winslow; and three brothers, Joseph, William and Arthur Sterckle.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 28th, in St. Ann Church, Bulger, with Father Bob Staszewski as celebrant. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery.
