Peggy Ann Jeffries

Peggy Ann Jeffries, 79, of Somerset Township, died Friday, November 21, 2008, in The Washington Hospital. She was born May 13, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of Wray Grayson and Lydia May Roach Patterson. Mrs. Jeffries attended school in Wayne, Michigan. She worked as a quality control supervisor at Bobbie Brooks for 19 ½ years and last worked as a receptionist at Ken McGavitt Nursing Home. Mrs. Jeffries was a member of First Christian Church, Washington. Deceased is her husband, David Jeffries. She was previously married to Ernest S. Barney and Ralph Montgomery, who are also deceased. Surviving are a son, Ernest Wray “Spanky (Christi) Barney of Eighty-Four; two daughters, Melanie K. Slogick of Bentleyville and Vicky L. (Paul) Mongell of Connellsville; seven grandchildren, Tim (Julie) Slogick, Joseph W. Bell, P. Anthony Mongell, McKenzie (Jason) Goforth, Tiffany Sandy, Trish (Paul) Dessify and Neil Barney; and 12 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Arthur Couts; and two sisters, Marian Bear and Patty Lou Patterson. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or services.
