Edmond Jacob Bredniak, 82, of Hopewell Township, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, in The Donnell House, following a brief illness. He was born on July 30, 1927, in Washington, a son of Jacob and Hazel Unijewski Bredniak.
Mr. Bredniak was retired, having worked at Washington Steel for more than twenty-five years in Production. He enjoyed dairy farming, gardening and all Pittsburgh sports. Mr. Bredniak was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church of Washington. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II.
On September 3, 1950, he married Barbara L. Davidson who died on January 6, 2004.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert A. ( Connie ) Bredniak of Avella and Edward S. ( Susan ) Bredniak of Paducha, Ky.; two daughters, Amy ( Paul ) Craft of Hickory and Rebecca ( Kevin ) Szolek of Avella; a sister, Josephine Bednarski; 13 grandchildren, Kristen, Renee, Bobby, Daniel, Laura, Amanda and Bryan Bredniak, Jennifer Colacito, Jeff Craft and Alicia, Shaina, Kayla and Jacob Szolek; and seven great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Daniel Edward Bredniak; and a brother, Theodore Bredniak who was K.I.A. in World War II.
BREDNIAK - Friends of Edmond Jacob Bredniak, 82, of Hopewell Township, who died Saturday, August 15, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 19,2009 in Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, Washington, with Bishop John Mack as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity National Catholic Church Cemetery.
