Elsie M. Paul

Elsie Marie Paul, 89, of Washington, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 25, 2009, in Washington County Health Center. Born July 11, 1920, in Washington, to Ellery Guy and Wannetta Polan Greathouse, she was raised by Marie “Pidgie” Forgie. Mrs. Paul was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. For over 30 years, she was the caregiver to her ill husband. Mrs. Paul was a member of Church of Christ. On May 31, 1940, she married Robert E. Paul, who died September 18, 1998. Surviving are a son, Dennis (Joyce) Paul of Washington; a daughter, Zelda Walker Paul of Washington; three brothers, Guy “Bud” Greathouse of Florida, Sammy Forgie of New Jersey, and Bobby Forgie of California; two sisters, Jane Marshall and Dolores Lindsay, both of Washington; five grandchildren, Jack Walker, Tim Paul, Steven Paul, Shelley Burt and Sandy Paul; and four great-grandchildren, Kevin and Jason Walker and Zakery and Zayden Burt. Deceased are a grandchild, Dawn Walker; and a brother, Ivan Forgie. Friends will be received Noon to 3 p.m., the hour of service, Monday, November 30th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Bob Davison officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
