Walter Daniel Neilson Jr. of Canonsburg died Saturday, October 17, 2009, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1932, in Washington, a son of the late Walter Daniel Neilson Sr. and Nellie Amon Neilson Williams.
Mr. Neilson was a graduate of Washington High School.
He enjoyed football, hunting and fishing.
For more than 19 years, Mr. Neilson was employed by Washington & Jefferson College as a security guard and also drove a school bus for several bus companies.
On April 11, 1952, he married Frances Marie Myers, who died January 17, 1999.
Surviving are his son, Leverne D. (Patti) Neilson of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Kailem Daniel, NaKoma Jeremy and SaKima James Neilson; two brothers, John Neilson and Chuck Williams, both of Philadelphia; and three sisters, Margaret Goodwin of Philadelphia and Betty Foflygen and Sandy Kopko, both of Washington.
Deceased are a son, Walter Lee Neilson; a sister, Norma Jean Conrad; and his stepgrandfather, Charles F. Williams.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 13th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
