Elizabeth Jane Dague, 93, of Washington, died at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Humbert Lane Health Care, after a brief illness.
She was born on August 12, 1915, a daughter of Charles A. and Elizabeth Bigler Fowler.
Mrs. Dague was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
She was a 1933 graduate of Trinity High School.
She had worked at Caldwell's Department Store and W.G.A. as a clerk.
Mrs. Dague belonged to Martha V. Paul Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Prosperity and Pennsylvania State Grange and the South Franklin Fire Department Auxiliary.
On April 10, 1934, she married Stewart A. Dague, who died on April 29, 1981.
Surviving are 3 sons, Charles Dague, of Washington; Roger (Patty) Dague, of Stuarts Draft, VA and Odell (Mary Jane) Dague, of Prosperity; a daughter, Shirley (Joe) Comfort, of Washington; 2 sisters, Annabelle Fowler Porter and Dorothy Fowler Ptaszek, both of Washington; 39 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are 2 daughters, Susan Hutson and Catherine Moore; 2 grandchildren, Scott and Deanna Dague; 2 brothers, Walter and Fred Fowler and 2 sisters, Virginia Fowler and Josephine Carmichael.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 19, 2009 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., wit the Rev. Josh Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
