A. Leroy Allen, Jr.

A. Leroy Allen, Jr., 67, of Washington, died on December 28, 2017, in his home. He was born on November 30, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late Albert Leroy Allen, Sr., and Hazel Marie McGinnis Allen. A 1968 graduate of Trinity High School, Leroy was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. Mr. Allen served with the Army National Guard of the United States, the United States Air National Guard, the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania, and the Army Reserves, until his Honorable Discharge as Specialist Fourth Class, on April 26, 1975. Leroy worked for Federal Paper, Nickels Bakery, and as an antiques dealer.  He maintained Antiques Downtown, in Washington, for twenty years.  Mr. Allen retired from the Teamsters Union. He was a member of the National Duncan Glass Society. A family man, Leroy enjoyed the outdoors, and was a well known local in the area. On November 20, 1982, he married Susan Watson, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Brian Lee (Kathy) Allen, Branden Lynn (Danielle) Allen, and Brent Leal (Kristine) Allen; a brother, Randolph (Becky) Allen; a sister, Susan (Art) Richardson; six grandchildren, Meredith, Grace, Cameron, Liam, Elias, and Garrett; two stepbrothers, Jay (Nancy) Baumgartner, and Kevin Baumgartner; three stepsisters, Janie (Richard) Shriver, Margy (Harold) Carty, and Patty Camps; as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased is his stepmother, Jean Allen. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation.  A memorial service in North Buffalo Presbyterian Church will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 3rd with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
