June 7, 1927 — December 14, 2018

Addieva Griffin Johnson 1927 – 2018 Addieva Griffin Johnson passed away peacefully on December 14, 2018.  She is reunited in Heaven with her late husband, Edgar Howard Johnson, Sr., to whom she was married for 64 years. Mrs. Johnson was born in Washington, on June 7, 1927, to the late Lulu Cole Griffin and Bernard Chambers Griffin.  Her unique name was the combination of the names of her grandmothers and great aunt, Addie and Eva.  She was nicknamed “Sunny” as a girl. After graduating from Washington High School and marrying, Mrs. Johnson worked for many years as a salesperson at J.C. Penney, until her retirement.  She was a past member of Nazareth Baptist Church, in Washington, and a member of Rodman Baptist Church, in Pittsburgh, at the time of her death. Her sister, Mary Louise Griffin, and a brother, John Caesar Griffin predeceased her, as did her grandson, Eric Johnson. Surviving are her four children, Deborah L. Cuspard, Edgar Howard Johnson, Jr., Linda L. (Albert) Clemons, and Jeffrey Johnson.  She loved and doted on her 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.  One of her special gifts was being able to remember all of their birthdays.  She will also be missed by her many cousins and her extended Griffin relatives whom she enjoyed seeing at family reunions. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA.
